A Trenchang Hidalgo Don Quixote from La Mancha (Teravmeelne hidalgo Don Quijote La Manchast)

A dance fantasy by Janek Savolainen and Katrin Pärn on motifs from Cervantes

“When life itself seems pointless, who knows where madness begins? Maybe madness is really practicality taken to an extreme? Perhaps it is crazy to give up dreams and look for treasure where there is only debris? And maybe it is actually feeble-mindedness to try to retain common sense?
Yet more crazy than anything else is to see life as it really is, not as what it could be.”

(quotation from the film Man from La Mancha)

The beloved novel by Miguel de Cervantes Saavedra contains dreams, ideals, thirst for adventure, foolishness and naiveté, questions of life and illusion. If only magical realism could claim us all, carry us high and keep us from the blades of the windmill!
The production is dedicated to Aivar Kallaste, has two acts and anything can happen in it.

Premieres on 6 June 2019 in the Small Building of the Vanemuine
